Baccarat Guide

Objective
Correctly predict which of three propositions will win in the next round: Bank, Player or Tie.

How to Play
Two cards are dealt to both the Banker and the Player. Whichever hand is closest to 9 wins. You win by correctly predicting the winner.

Card value
Cards between Ace (1) and 9 are worth the card’s face value.

Tens through Kings are worth zero.
The total value of the cards cannot exceed nine.
If the total is above nine subtract ten.

Example:
9 + 8 = 17
17 – 10 = 7
Total = 7

Sometimes the Bank and / or the Player are dealt a third card. Consult the following to see when a third card will be dealt.

Player's Third Card Rule
If either the Player or the Bank have a total of 8 or 9 (a natural) on the first two cards no additional cards are drawn.

If the Player's total is less than or equal to 5, the Player draws a third card.

Bank's Third Card Rule
If the Player does not draw a third card, then the Bank's hand stands on 6 or more and takes a third card on a total of 5 or less.

If the Player draws a third card:
If the Bank's total is 2 or less, the Bank draws a card, regardless of what the Player’s third card is.
If the Bank’s total is 3, the Bank draws a third card unless the Player has a hand that totals 8.
If the Bank’s total is 4, the Bank draws a third card unless the Player’s total is 0, 1, 8, or 9.
If the Bank’s total is5 and the Player’s total is 4, 5, 6 or 7, the Bank draws a third card.
If the Bank’s total is 6 and the total of the Player’s hand is 6 or 7, the Bank draws a third card.
If the Bank’s total is 7, the Bank stands.
